About the Series:
Curiosity leads to greater learning and understanding. We are called be people who are curious about our God and our the faith. After all, the Bible is filled with people who question, even people who question God. And the more they question, the stronger God's call. In the coming weeks at IPUMC, we will be looking at a number of topics and issues that invite us to ask “Why God?” We're not passing out all the answers. We're inviting you to question and explore with us.
In coming weeks, we invite you to explore your curiosity about prayer, grace, forgiveness, heaven, hell, denominations, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, “being saved,” good and evil, mental illness, and other important topics that challenge, and ultimately confirm and strengthen our faith and our connection with God and one another.
As always, please free to submit your questions about these topics ... and others. God welcomes our desire to know and understand the spiritual journey better. As a community, we welcome your challenges and participation.
This Sunday, we're continuing our Why? series. In short, we're looking at why we do some of the things we do in the Church. We've already talked about Why Baptism? and Why Communion? Now, it's time to talk about Why Connect? After all, we often talk about Inman Park as a place to connect with God, as well as to learn, serve, and worship in our faith.
So Why Connect? How do we connect with God? Do we need worship? If faith is a personal relationship with God, why do we need a community? Does connecting with one another help us explore and strengthen our connection with God? More importantly, what are your responsibilities in your faith community? These are important questions, ones the Bible discusses in surprising depth. Please join us. We'd love to know what you think, too.
