Having a Wedding in Inman Park United Methodist

Getting married?  Consider having your wedding at our historic church near downtown Atlanta.  We have held many weddings in our beautiful church conveniently located a short walk from the Trolley Barn , a wonderful venue for wedding receptions.

Philosophy

Inman Park United Methodist Church believes that marriage is a sacred covenant and is open to non-members for their marriage ceremony.  The joining of a man and a woman in holy matrimony is an event that is blessed by God and the community.  Inman Park United Methodist Church is a Christian church and therefore affirms Christian marriage.  Inman Park United Methodist Church also acknowledges and respects religious diversity.  Therefore, our doors are open to those of different religious traditions.  Any ordained minister may perform the marriage, however, IPUMC’s minister is also available should you desire their services.

Facility

Inman Park United Methodist Church’s Sanctuary will seat up to 200 guests.  It is furnished with original pulpit furniture and pews.  It is graced with two large and several smaller stained glass windows.  The Sanctuary has both an organ and piano for musical accompaniment and a sound system is available for pre-recorded music.  The Hurt Room is available as the Bride’s Room.  Inman Park United Methodist Church is also located one-half block from the Trolley Barn, a popular reception venue.



Use of Facility

Inman Park United Methodist Church is both a sacred and historic place. The church asks that this be kept in mind in regard to music and decorations for the wedding ceremony. We have many items for use without charge, including candelabras and banners. Decoration, the moving of items in the sanctuary and music should be discussed with the Wedding Coordinator.

Making Arrangements

1. Contact the Wedding Coordinator to check the dates on which you are interested in celebrating your marriage.
2. We recommend that a visit be made to the church to see the facility. This can be by appointment or you are welcome to attend a worship service on Sunday mornings at 10:55 a.m.  Please confirm your visit to our worship service with the Wedding Coordinator so that she can be available to discuss your plans.
3. To confirm a date, a Wedding Information Packet must be completed and a deposit of $250 received. The Wedding Information Packet will dictate what other arrangements will need to be made in regards to the church.  The church requires that you use our director for your wedding. Her fee is $250.00 which includes a consultation before the wedding and being present at the rehearsal and the wedding.
4. The remaining fees due to IPUMC must be paid three weeks prior to the wedding.
