Join us in service
Inman Park Church is a Christian community seeking to live out God’s love and grace in our church and in our world. We are a place of faith, discovery, and exploration. A place where answers are not passed out. Where we converse and learn, struggle and stretch, grow and serve together.
God’s word invites us to seek out the hungry, thirsty, homeless, and hurting and to show them love through acts of service. Please join us as, together, we find a variety of ways to connect your head, heart, and hands in service to our community, our city, and the world.
In Our Church:
IPUMC is known for our hospitality. Extend a welcoming hand to all who come to worship and help coordinate the ushers.
Connect Groups are informal gatherings which meet in someone’s home, the church library, a Braves game, or even a local pub or coffee shop. These gatherings are a chance to form real relationships, discuss and share our faith journey and support each other in life events. Connect Groups meet through-out the week.
Children and Youth Ministries
“It takes a village…” is more than a cliché. We all have the joy and privilege to help guide the growth of our children. Adult volunteers are needed to help out with our infant care room and Children’s Ministry each week. Come learn, and have your heart filled, by the littlest among us.
2nd Sunday Lunches
The 2nd Sunday of every month (usually), we gather together for a light lunch and fellowship after church. We invite you to join us to help with planning, preparation and clean-up. Check the calendar for our next 2nd Sunday CONNECT Lunch.
Visiting the Home Bound
Unfortunately, some of our beloved members are homebound and unable to join in our worship and fellowship and would really appreciate a phone call or visits from our church family.
At IPUMC we challenge ourselves to discover new ways to understand, interpret and experience Christian celebrations throughout the year. Whether we join Elvis on a journey from Memphis to Bethlehem or fly kites to praise the Risen Lord, we welcome your help in both the exploration and implementation of these celebrations.
In Our Community:
Inman Park Festival
IPUMC is part of the Inman Park Festival Tour of Homes every year. In addition, we offer BBQ lunches and other treats. Volunteers always have a great time greeting thousands of visitors to our neighborhood. There is a lot to do leading up to and during the festival. Mark your calendar for the last weekend in April. Proceeds from our sales go to support missions in the community.
Intown Collaborative Ministries (ICM)
ICM’s primary mission is to move people out of homelessness. A major part of this ministry is a food pantry, operated every Saturday at the former Druid Hills United Methodist Church.
IPUMC Serves in the Food Pantry on the first Saturday of every month. 10-15 volunteers (adults and children) are needed on these Saturdays from 10a – 1p to help with client intake and food distribution/delivery.
In Our City:
Open Door Community
Open Door Community provides much needed assistance and support to our neighbors who are homeless and hungry. Every day they provide over 400 sandwiches to those in need. This is a great project for groups such as Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
Keep our neighborhood beautiful by helping pick up trash, plant flowers, mulch trails and clean flowerbeds.
United Methodist Children’s Home
UMCH provides housing and services for young adults (ages 17-21) in the foster care system and single mothers with young children. IPUMC participates in their Agape Dinner on an occasional basis by helping with meal preparation and sharing in the meal and fellowship.
In Our World:
NAP’s mission is to help refugees, asylees, and victims of human trafficking resettle in the U.S. and regain self-sufficiency. IPUMC views its partnership with NAP as our call to serve the world. Adopt a Family: IPUMC fully furnishes an apartment for a new refugee family as part of our Christmas outreach. You may also pick a gift tag off our foyer Christmas Tree to help the families offer a real Christmas to their children. We also greet them with smiling, friendly faces as they arrive at the airport.
United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR)
UMCOR is a ministry of The United Methodist Church, and our goal is to assist the most vulnerable persons affected by crisis or chronic need without regard to their race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. We believe all people have God-given worth and dignity. Flood Buckets are assembled to be sent to disaster sites.
Join us and have fun while doing a small part to make the world better. Please see our Calendar and Announcements pages for SERVE opportunities!
