Rev. Matthew Nelson

Matt and Anne have two children, Caleb, and Sarah.  Caleb is in at Mary Lin Elementary.  Sarah attends Epworth Day School. They moved into the Inman Park neighborhood in June 2010, into a townhouse on Edgewood Ave.

Both Matt and Anne are from Augusta, and Matt has been serving as the Pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church in Augusta since July, 2006.  He began his ministry in 2001, serving two churches in North Carolina and then as Associate Pastor at a large church in Augusta, Aldersgate UMC, for two years.

Matt received his Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Georgia Southern University, and his Master’s from Duke Divinity School.  He has completed the United Methodist North Georgia Conference Church Development Leadership Academy, and likes golf, sports, and Duke basketball.

Anne received her B.A. in English from UGA, and has been a middle school Language Arts teacher. She was on staff at Aldersgate UMC for 4 years as the Director of Adult Ministries. She is now a full-time wife and mom as well as part-time teacher at Epworth Day School, and enjoys teaching, decorating, and dabbling in the Fine Arts.
