Here are the GROW opportunities at Inman Park UMC this year. Please join us on our journey as we GROW together! Contact Laura Tanguturi if you have any questions.
Grow 1: Adult GROW class discusses the scripture passage that’s being read in service that Sunday, or reads a book of the Bible together. Please join us for prayer, open-minded conversation, and sincere, loving fellowship. Your doubts and questions are welcome.
– 1st floor library at 9:30 am Sunday mornings, group led; childcare is available. Class is currently meeting.
Grow 2: Adult GROW class follows the Children’s Spark Curriculum/ Sunday Morning Readings or Lessons that are part of that Sunday’s worship. It’s a time to look deeper into the scripture and for sharing questions and thoughts. There is more to this class than just scripture–join us in building friendships with other members of the church.
– 2nd floor library starting September 13 at 9:45 am Sunday mornings. Kristen Vincent will be leading September 13, 20 and October 4. After this time we will evaluate as a group to see what other GROW members might want to lead the next 2-4 weeks. Childcare is available.
Holy Club is the “advanced class” of Sunday School for adults. Join us for frank, challenging, unfiltered conversation, fellowship, and even a cold beer or two. All viewpoints are welcome. Bring your open mind and your toughest questions. Meets the second Thursday of every month at Manual’s Tavern or Thinking Man Tavern. See Clark Cunningham, John Adcox, or Andrew Farnsworth for details. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Men’s Grow: Come for coffee and a pastry at Proof Bakery to discuss scripture with the use of the Bible or through a devotional. Meets Monday mornings at 7 am and is lead by Pastor Max or a group member. Proof is located near the church at 100 Hurt St NE, Atlanta, GA 30307.
“Becoming a Balanced Woman”: This GROW Group is a 6 week study for the women of Young Adult CONNECT. The study will focus on topics such as self confidence, stress management, finding contentment, and being healthy overall in body and spirit. The study will begin on Tuesday, September 15 and will be lead by Allison Musnick. Email Allison for further information: email@example.com
Pastor Max will be adding two or three short term GROW Groups to the fall schedule:
New Member’s Class: Sunday mornings for six weeks beginning September 13. Intended participants are those who have recently joined or are thinking about joining our church.
Study: The Unfolding Drama of the Bible: An 8- week weeknight study beginning the week of September 13, using the book The Unfolding Drama of the Bible by Bernhard W. Anderson. The study explores the storyline that holds the Bible together. The day of the week the class meets will be determined.
The third potential short-term fall GROW Group would be a weekday morning version of The Unfolding Drama of the Bible Study. Please contact Pastor Max if you have any interest or questions: firstname.lastname@example.org
Children & Youth GROW: GROW Groups for children and youth begin September 13 at 9:45 am in the multipurpose room (children) or Youth Hut (youth). Each group will have their own teacher and lessons/activities tailored to age appropriate Christian Education learning goals. This year they will journey through the Bible together using SPARK curriculum to drive the lessons and activities. Our children and youth GROW by learning scripture together, SERVE by doing mission projects together, and CONNECT by building community together.
“Westerhoff’s Five Criteria for sharing faith with children: telling stories, celebrating, praying, living our faith, and performing faithful acts of service and witness.” – from Making a Home for Faith: Nurturing the Spiritual Life of Your Children
Nursery: Open Sunday mornings 9:30 am until the end of worship for children 0-3 years of age.
Other Atlanta Emory District Conference GROW opportunities:

Upcoming classes (Basic and Advanced) are on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 9:30am-2:30pm. Please contact the district office for more information – (770) 446-7506 or email@example.com
