Major Food Drive – help us get a TON of Food!

Dear Friends,

foodInman Park Church CONNECTS, GROWS, and SERVES with God and others along the spiritual journey.  One way we do that is to CONNECT with our neighbors in need by SERVE-ing them through our local ministry partner, Intown Collaborative Ministries (ICM).

In 2010, individuals and organizations within our community formed ICM after decades of worth of work.  In the five years since its inception, ICM has grown to include five areas of ministry service:  1) a weekly food pantry, 2) two low-income based food co-ops, 3) a clothing closet, 4) homeless outreach assistance, and 5) a “Heading Home” program.

The heart of ICM’s “work remains building a strong community through relationships and mutually transformed lives – our lives and the lives of our neighbors.”

Inman Park Church has been most active in SERVE-ing at ICM’s Food Pantry.  Each week an average of 75 men, women, and children receive food from ICM’s Pantry.  And clients visit the pantry approximately seven times a year.  This pantry provides food that fills in the gaps for many of Atlanta’s homeless and working poor.

We’d like to continue SERVE-ing our neighbors in need by sponsoring a major food drive.  Our lofty goal is to collect a (literal) TON of FOOD!  We can do it!
